Who this is for

One record. Several different questions.

A building permit is the only document that says when work on a property actually happened, issued by the authority that inspected it. Permiva holds Florida's — 1.8 million of them, every one carrying a date, most reaching back into the 1990s. What that record is worth depends entirely on which question you are asking of it.

Underwriting

Carriers · MGAs
Property underwriters and portfolio managers writing Florida homeowners risk.

How

Send a book of in-force or submitted addresses. Each one comes back with its last roofing permit, the permit's status, and the earliest date that jurisdiction has on record.

No integration, no model to validate — a list in, a list out.

Why

Roof age drives Florida eligibility more than any other single attribute, and it is usually inferred from aerial imagery or taken from the applicant. A permit is neither inferred nor self-reported.

It also works where a filed rating model cannot: non-renewal triage, inspection prioritisation, book review.

Agencies

Independent · Retail
Agents quoting Florida homeowners, before the submission goes out.

How

One address, one answer, at quote time. Either the roof has a permit on record or it does not, and you know before the carrier does.

Why

A submission declined on roof age costs the quote, the inspection fee and the client's afternoon. Knowing first means steering the risk to a carrier that will write it, or telling the homeowner what they need before anyone spends money.

Claims & coverage disputes

Adjusters · Counsel
Anyone who has to establish when a roof was last replaced, and defend the answer.

How

Look up the address. You get the permit number, the issuing jurisdiction and the date — a record you can cite and the other side can verify at the source.

Why

"Our model estimated the roof at 22 years" is an opinion. "Permit TRA18-45384, City of Bonita Springs, tear-off reroof, finaled 3/23/2018" is a document.

Post-Ian and post-Irma disputes turn on exactly this, and a jurisdiction-issued record settles it faster than an argument about methodology.

Roofing contractors

Live today
Roofers targeting homeowners whose roofs are genuinely due.

How

Draw a territory and get the homes with no roofing permit on record — the ones statistically overdue — with owner names and mailing addresses, or a printed campaign we mail for you.

Why

Mailing a street costs the same whether or not half of it was reroofed after the last storm. Knowing which half is the entire difference between a campaign and a donation.

Property diligence

Inspectors · Investors · Title
Anyone deciding what a property is worth, or what it will cost next.

How

Check an address before closing. Permit history tells you what has been done, when, and by which jurisdiction's authority.

Why

A roof with no permit in thirty years of records is a capital expense the seller has not mentioned. On a portfolio it is the difference between a modelled reserve and a surprise.

What we do with what you send us

Addresses submitted for a lookup or a batch match are used to answer that request and nothing else. They are never added to a lead list, never resold, and never shared with a contractor.

Permiva and Lead-Spy read the same permit records. They do not share customer data in either direction.
